Ornate Layers Dies

April 2020 Stamp Six Part 1

    April 13, 2020

The early release Ornate Garden Suite from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog is amazing! I’ve been having lots of fun making cards with it. This card uses many of the items from the suite. I love this greeting from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set–you can use it for anything! Just say what you want inside!

The ornate dies in this suite are amazing. They add so much to a card. On this card I used a die from the Ornate Layers Dies.

    Card Recipe:

    • Card base: Terracotta Tile card stock 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Scored at 4 1/4
    • Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper 5 1/4 x 4 Adhere to card base.
    • Cut ornate frame from Whisper White card stock using the Ornate Layers Die and the Big Shot.
    • Run this piece through the Big Shot with the Ornate Floral 3-D Embossing Folder.
    • Using a sponge dauber and So Saffron Ink, antique the white card stock by rubbing ink randomly over the flowers. Adhere to card.
    • Stamp the greeting in Soft Suede Ink on Whisper White Card Stock 3 x 1/2.
    • Adhere to a piece of Terracotta Tile card stock 3 1/2 x 5/8. Cut a snake’s tongue in the left side. Adhere this to card front.
    • Tie a bow from the Terracotta Tile ribbon and attach with a glue dot.
    • Cut the two smaller individual flowers from the Ornate Borders Dies in Terracotta Tile card stock. Adhere to the card with glue dots and add Gilded Gems to the centers.
    • Adhere a piece of Whisper White card stock 5 1/2 x 4 to the inside of the card.
    • Add a piece of Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper 3/4 x 4 to the left side of the Whisper White card stock.
    • Stamp the flower from the Ornate Style Stamp Set in Soft Suede Ink.
    • Color the flower with Stampin’ Write Markers: Old Olive, Terracotta Tile, and So Saffron.
